Sustainability Program has Manufacturers Seeing Green

With guidance from Milwaukee Economy, Energy, Environment (ME3), Badger Alloys has implemented numerous sustainable manufacturing initiatives.  After  analyzing its entire facility to identify opportunities for sustainable growth, the company continues its efforts to reduce waste, decrease peak energy demand, and reduce costs while increasing production.  Programs include the installation of a sand reclamation unit that allows the company to reclaim more than 80 percent of the sand used in its foundry, an electricity management system that conserves energy and reduces costs by shifting power demand throughout the facility, and equipment upgrades that reduce energy and air consumption while maintaining production.
